+1 for eating the rice, how many people have met or heard of someone getting poisened by reheated rice? The biggest issue with take away rice is that you don’t know how many times the rice has been reheated already or how it’s been handled. That being said I don’t know many people in real life who wouldln’t reheat take away rice to finish it off, I’ve watched people eat days old take away rice that’s been sat out on the counter in a warm kitchen and as far as I know no one has ever come to any harm.

That is an odd wording. Is the £1000 an odd kind of excess? So they’d pay up to £1000 for a flight plus other elements provided it all added up to more than a grand per person? Very strange.

In reality, I suspect, it’s just confirmation that the flight was indeed cancelled and that you are not trying it on.

The Urban Dictionary’s definition is very enlightening, not only regarding the term but also those who use and and even those annoyed by its use.

    Oh, and it is SFW.

Not if he’s on antidepressants, though, the mixture can cause stomach bleeds apparently.

I’ve been a donor for years, and really hope, that if I am ever in the position to be able to donate any part of my body, that every single usable part is used! Equally, if I ever needed a transplant, I would hope that there would be suitable donors available. Simple really!

I recently had a very frank and open discussion with my 10 yr old son about organ donation. He understands the process and, whilst thinking about it a bit ‘creepy’, fully understands the beneficial impact it can have on other people in need.

All my family know my wishes, and I know theirs.

@nick123 Is a dash cam going to help your friend stop tailgating and to drive within the limits of his reaction and braking times?

I in no way condone people doing this as insurance scammers, and I agree that their actions are dangerous driving. But… even if they’ve disabled their brake lights, their scam relies on the victim driving below the expected standard.

I’ve done a couple of emergency stops for good reason, one with a car behind me. The thing about an emergency stop is you don’t tend to see it coming, the car behind you even less. In this case, your friend hit a scammer, but had it been a genuine emergency stop nothing would have prevented the same thing from happening.

I ended up with less than two feet to the car in front of me who’d slammed brakes on at 60 mph for a dog that ran out from the verge (caravan in lay-by), and less than a foot to the car behind me. Sobering stuff.

It is a lottery. You can have endless grief with a Rolls Royce, or no trouble at all with an ancient Fiesta

I don’t usually initiate conversations, but I am receptive to other people talking to me. I have had some lovely conversations with some folks on trains and buses over the years. If they turn out to be a raving lunatic, I just shut the conversation down.

Six bed single storey, moderate insulation, heating and hot water 1600l a year. Consumption dropped by 40% with a modern boiler.

only to be advised by the owners that the dog “won’t hurt you”.

    That always pissed me off.

Their hellhound rushes at you, barking, slavering, baring teeth, with glowing red eyes. And somehow I’m not supposed to be bothered by this.

Train your f*cking dog not to do that, you cretin.
