OH and I are looking to escape for a few days. We based in North Oxfordshire but are happy to drive a few hours- four or so sounds good but if it is the right place then it could be further.
We are hoping to go around the 13th of June.
No people, no neighbours, no human noise
As remote as possible, it would be nice not to see a town and be totally surrounded by nature
Walking trails or beaches – interesting birds would be a bonus
Very happy to have no mobile reception
Views are a must
Don’t mind camping, but do not want to be in an official camp site
Don’t mind not rustic but a loo would be lovely
Don’t mind walking to the accommodation but car won’t do serious off-road work
Any great ideas?

We recently stayed here https://www.airbnb.co.uk/rooms/7751966?s=51
OK, there are a couple of cottages nearby, including the owner’s, but we didn’t hear a peep from them and they were very hands-off in their approach to us. They were there if we had a problem, but otherwise they left us well alone.
There is a farm down the track so you do get the tractor/quads going past, with sheep and dogs. That doesn’t bother me though, in fact I rather liked it.
The views are superb – nothing but sheep for as far as the eye can see. On a clear day you can see Scafell Pike and other mountains. It’s just beautiful.
There is some lovely walking directly off the cottage site, across the fell, past Devoke Water and up the nearby Devoke Seat.
Facilities were lovely, brand new kitchen which was really nice to cook in, and you can get eggs and pork from the owners and feed the chickens (and pigs, if they have any at the time you’re staying).
25 mins drive to nearest village with pub, though there’s a very small post office/village shop a bit closer.
Great base from which to explore the Lakes.
Might not be remote enough for you, we certainly found it quiet enough though

Have a look at rural retreats or Landmark trust for late availability cottages? National trust do some beautiful ones as well.

How about this Shepherd’s Hut? It’s in the middle of a small wood on a farm. Adjacent hut has nice bathroom and kitchen facilities. Not accessible with a car but you only have to walk across one field and a wheelbarrow is supplied for the luggage. It’s in West Sussex so not too far to drive from Oxon.
